[2010-12-16] December 15, 2010 the final conference of the project “Knowledge, Work – Future” was organized
December 15, 2010 the final conference of the project “Knowledge, Work – Future” proceeded in Kaunas, organized according to the project implemented by the Refugees Reception Center (the perennial program of the European Refugee Fund in Lithuania of 2008-2013 and the annual program of the European Refugee Fund in Lithuania of 2008). The goal of the final conference was to inform the representatives of the interested institutions with the reached results, also to present the results of the survey “Possibilities and problems of business promotion of the foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania“, created video-clips. 50 participants took part at the conference of the project from various institutions and the representatives of the implemented project. The following representatives took part at the conference: Faculty of Social Sciences of Kaunas University of Technology, Migration Department, the municipalities of Kaunas, Klaipėda, Jonava, the labour exchange of Jonava, Lithuanian Red Cross Society, labour market training centers, Tolerant Youth Association, Caritas of Lithuania etc. The director Vytautas Beisinas of the Refugees Reception Center welcomed all the participants. The project leader Natalija Arkadjeva introduced the results of the project “Knowledge, Work, Future”, the survey “Possibilities and problems of business promotion of the foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania“, created video-clips. The lawyer assistant of Lithuanian Red Cross Society Eglė Samuchovaitė presented the report “Social Rights of the People Granted Asylum in Lithuania”. During the conference the docent dr. Eglė Butkevičienė of Department of Social of Kaunas University of Technology expressed her thoughts about the importance of the social skills for the foreigners granted asylum, integrating into the society. In 2009 – 2010 Tolerant Youth Association implemented also the project financed by European Refugee Fund program during which made the survey “Tolerance and Multicultural Development in the Secondary Schools”. The representative of the association Vytautas Valentinavicius introduced the results of the survey. The director Diana Stankaitienė of Social Support Center of Klaipėda shared her experience implementing integration program of the foreigners granted asylum in Klaipeda town. During the conference it was discussed about trafficking in Lithuania, which challenges the aggrieved meet and what support is necessary. At the end of the conference there were discussions about the integration of the foreigners granted asylum into the Lithuanian society, the most active participants – the foreigners granted asylum of the project were awarded.
