[2010-11-24] In November 2010 the publication “Problems and Possible Solutions of Business Promotion of the Foreigners Granted Asylum” (the report of the research of the project “Knowledge, Work – Future”)

Implementing the activities of the project “Knowledge, Work – Future” (the perennial program of the European Refugee Fund in Lithuania of 2008-2013 and the annual program of the European Refugee Fund in Lithuania of 2009) two researches were made in 2009-2010.

In 2009 the research on the integration of the foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania and the activities of the project “Knowledge, Work – Future” was made, in 2010 the research on the possibilities of business promotion of the foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania was made. It was sought during the research made in 2010 to explore the problems and the possibilities of the promotion of the business of the foreigners granted asylum.

The publication “Problems and Possible Solutions of Business Promotion of the Foreigners Granted Asylum” was prepared. Now printing work is proceeding now. The publication consists of 200 pages. The publication is prepared in two versions: Lithuanian – Russian and Lithuanian – English. The total edition – 500 copies (250 copies – Lithuanian- English; 250 copies – Lithuanian- Russian). The copies of the edition will be distributed for the foreigners granted asylum, also the participants of the various events. For example on December 15, 2010 the final conference of the project “Knowledge, Work – Future” will be organized, during which the publications and the results of the made research will be presented for the participants. The systemized and adapted material about the problems of business promotion of the foreigners granted asylum and possible solutions how to avoid these problems, the summarized estimation of the activities is presented. The advantages and disadvantages of the project “Knowledge, Work – Future” are presented also. The main defect in regard to the business promotion was, that the possibilities of the financial support was not provided during the project to the foreigners granted asylum, who had prepared for the business promotion – had prepared business plans and the other organizational matters.

After the analysis of the problems of business promotion of the foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania there were made the conclusion, that almost a half of the foreigners granted asylum, participating in the integration, have the potential to promote and to develop business or an individual activity in Lithuania: have motivation and wish, have former experience in entrepreneurship, choose willingly the training on the entrepreneurship and see the provided benefit.

The majority of the foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania could develop the competence of the entrepreneurship, got in their country of origin, tut the foreigners granted asylum living in Lithuania don’t have possibilities to promote business without the support: due to the missing information of the existing business environment in Lithuania and inaccessible financial resources.

In the publication the recommendations are also presented how to solve the problems of business promotion: it is suggested for the foreigners to provide the financial support for business promotion to the foreigners granted asylum, to support providing services, to organize the training, how to prepare the application to get the support and the business plan, how to plan the implementation of the project and future permanent activity, to provide the assistance on law, accounting, promotion and e-business, also it is recommended to supplement the fields supported by the European Refugees Fund with the field of the business promotion of the foreigners granted asylum.

The publication of the research-report has bigger remaining value than the lectures because the publication can be distributed to the bigger number of the members of the target group. Also the publication is translated into Russian and English languages, the foreigners can share information among each other.

If the need of higher number of the publication is in the future, the additional edition of the publication will be issued.
