[2010-08-12] Already the third year the sessions of the relaxation are organized in the Refugees Reception Center for the foreigners granted asylum

The foreigners granted asylum lived in a native country for a long time in the permanent stress (military actions, repressions, violence, starvation). Not only the refuges, but also the other people, who had such experience, loose the ability to relax eventually. It is noticed, that such people have not enough skills of the relaxation, can not manage constructively the stress situations, own emotions and behavior and to relax positively.

The foreigners came from the military zones look for the unprofitable ways of the relaxation, which influence the instability of the emotional condition, the worry, the difficulties of the concentration of the attention. It influences the motivation of the foreigners to study and to integrate into the labor market.

Due to the upper mentioned reasons the sessions of the relaxation are organized for the foreigners granted asylum in the Refugees Reception Center the third year. These sessions were started to organize in 2008 according to the project “Active Integration Today – Success Tomorrow” (the program of the European Refugee Fund of 2007)

In 2009-2010 the sessions of the relaxation are organized in the Refugee Reception Center according to the project “Knowledge, Work – Future” implemented by the (the perennial program of the European Refugee Fund in Lithuania of 2008-2013 and the program of the European Refugee Fund in Lithuania of 2008-2009). The special appointed counselor organizes the sessions, also the psychologist of the center participate in the sessions.

During the sessions there is used the therapy of breathing, moving, art, music, light. The foreigners granted asylum – adults and children – participate willingly and active in these sessions.

In 2009 there was made the research on the integration of the foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania and the activities of the project “Knowledge, Work – Future”. The majority of the respondents marked, that they like the most to watch movies in the relaxation room, some respondents estimated positively the use of the therapy of smells, art.

After the estimation of the results of the implementation of the activity in 2009 and considering the results of the research made in 2009, in 2010 the activity of the sessions of the relaxation was changed. Also the individual therapy was included to the group sessions of the relaxation (considering the remarks of the project specialist, responsible for the activity in the room, the teachers and the other specialists – the rude behaviour of the children, the physical power is used, solving various situations, the children have too much unplanned free time, have no purposeful employment, the adults are not able to manage negative emotions, are stressed and have other psychological, social, health problems). The art therapy was started to use during the sessions with the children, because the internal world, the mood, the feelings, the relations to the environment, the people unfold during the sessions.

During the sessions with the adults – it is trained to relax regularly using the exercises of breathing, body relaxation.
