[2010-07-26] Activity in the children‘s occupation room

The children of the foreigners granted asylum have the possibility to do the favourite activity in the Children’s employment room of the Refugees Reception Center since the year of 2009.

In 2010 the activity in the children’s employment room is continued according to the project “Knowledge, Work – Future” (the perennial program of the European Refugee Fund in Lithuania of 2008-2013 and the annual program of the European Refugee Fund in Lithuania). But in 2010 this activity was corrected, evaluating the presented conclusions and references on the improvement of the project activities of the report of the survey on the monitoring on the efficiency of the integration of the foreigners granted asylum in Lithuania made in 2009.

Regarding to the results of the survey in 2010 the methodology of the implemented activity was changed in the children’s employment room. Since the beginning of this year it was started to use the methodologies of the education of M.Montessori, R.Steiner, F.Frebel, O.Decroly, Ž.Piažė, S.Frene. These methodologies are based on the education of the sense of the child, their relation to the nature and the natural environment. It is reached after freedom and independence, especially the role of the child in the childhood is considered. Using these methodologies of the education the children learn to work in the group, get more knowledge, the democratic style of the education is used.

Implementing the activity in 2009 it was notices that some children have psychological problems. So in 2010 it is communicated with the specialist, implementing the relaxation activity.

At the time, when the children spend time in the children’s employment room of the Refugees Reception Center, their parents can attend various courses, organized in the center for the adult foreigners granted asylum.

During six months of 2010 15 children of the foreigners granted asylum were participating in the activity organized in the children’s employment room.
