[2010-01-15] The implementation of the project „Knowledge, Work – Future“, started to implement in 2009, will continue in 2010

The project „Knowledge, Work – Future“, started to implement in 2009, will be continued in 2010, which is partly financed by the European Union and the Republic of Lithuania. During the project it will be reached to solve the basic problems of the integration of the foreigners granted asylum into the labor market, the active means of the integration will be used, the society will be informed about the target group, the collaboration with the participants of the labor market will be strengthened, especially with the employers.    

 The activities of the implementing project are improved regarding to the reached results of the project of 2009, the presented conclusions and the recommendations of the monitoring of the activity.

In 2010 in Refugees Reception Center the activity of the relaxation, the courses of the computer literacy, the Lithuanian language using the computer programs are organized, the consulting is provided for the foreigners granted asylum in the library.

While the adult foreigners granted asylum attend the courses, organized in the center, the activity in the children’s employment room is organized for the preschool-aged children. 

As the most of the arrived foreigners granted asylum have lost the labor skills, the activity of the professional career planning, implemented in 2009 according to the project, will be continued also in 2010. The foreigners will get the consulting on the career planning, the professional orientation, the employment, the creation of own business. The specialist will help to create the individual career plans, integrating into the labor market.

In 2010 the extra courses of the Lithuanian language will be organized for the foreigners granted asylum in the municipalities. These courses will help the foreigners granted asylum to prepare to pass the state exam of the Lithuanian language.

In 2009 various trainings were interesting for many foreigners. In 2010 it is planned to organize the following training for the foreigners granted asylum: the training on the development of the social skills and the rise of the motivation; the training on the labour right; the training for the foreigners granted asylum, wishing to start own business; the employment and the consulting on the writing of the business plans.

10 foreigners granted asylum were trained in the work places and later employed during the implemented project in 2009. In 2010 it is planned to organize the training of the foreigners granted asylum in the work places and later to employ them for the trial period.

Before starting to organize the training, it is planned to test the foreigners granted asylum, seeking to find out their situation in the labor market and to choose properly the representatives of the target group to the planned courses.

At the end of 2010 it is planned to prepare and to issue the survey-report “The problems of the business promotion of the foreigners granted asylum and possible solutions” in Lithuanian – Russian and Lithuanian – English languages.

Seeking to spread the information to the society about the target group it is planned to create and to broadcast video clips, to organize the commemoration of the World Refugee Day, to refresh the internet site of the center, where the newest information is presented, related to the implementation of the project.
